Since the release of Earthfall this past summer we have gotten tons of great feedback from the community. This feedback gave us tons of great ideas what to include in the Earthfall Development Roadmap, which included new weapons, new missions and new modes, but one area that we wanted to level up on was the weapon audio. To help us raise the bar, we asked friends in the industry, and one name kept coming up, Formosa Group out of Burbank. After doing some research, it was hard to debate their credentials that spawns across games, movies, and television which includes Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, God of War, The Last of Us, John Wick, John Wick 2, Deadpool 2, Blade Runner 2049, Star Trek, and Game of Thrones.
In the upcoming Invasion Update for Earthfall, players will find all the weapon audio redone and remixed to help heighten the experience! Formosa Interactive's Alan Rankin, who was previously nominated for an Academy Award for his sound effects work on Star Trek, jumped at the opportunity to help on Earthfall. Being a longtime gamer himself, the chance to help shape the sound of humanities last stand against an alien invasion sounded too fun to pass up! For the last couple months, Alan has been carefully crafting the new weapon audio in Earthfall. Every aspect of every weapon has been reworked, from the brass shell eject on the SW22a to the gut-punching thud of the Berg 930 Shotgun to the distinct airburst from an AK-47. Every detail is there in as you fight back the alien invasion in Earthfall.
Having recently heard the final mix, we are thrilled with the results and can't wait for all of our fans to listen to the changes included in the Invasion Update, our most substantial update which also includes Player Progression, Player Skills and Perks, and the new Invasion game mode, our twist on horde mode, as well as so much more.
